A Certificate of Residence in Thailand (often referred to as a Residence Certificate or TM.16) is an official document issued by the Thai Immigration Bureau to prove a foreigner’s address, commonly required for driving licenses, vehicle registration, or banking. The application form can be downloaded as a PDF or DOC file from immigration websites and typically costs 200 THB.

  • Application Form: Download the Application Form for Residence Certificate from official sources like Samut Prakan ImmigrationLTR Visa Thailand, or Phangnga Immigration.
  • Required Documents:
    • Completed application form (TM.18 or similar).
    • Passport with a valid visa and a copy of the photo page, last entry stamp, and TM.6 departure card.
    • Original and copy of the lease agreement or house registration book.
    • Recent utility bill (electric or water) or internet bill in your name.
    • Two 2-inch passport-sized photos.o Two 2-inch passport-sized photos.
    • Proof of 90-day report (if you have lived in Thailand for more than 90 days).
  • Cost and Processing: The fee is generally 200 THB. Processing times vary by office; some, such as Bangkok, may take longer, while others might offer same-day service for a higher fee.
